Ross Van Reenen - Managing Director

Ross van Reenen has been a Business & Management Consultant for more than 25 years and consulted for top listed companies in South Africa and Europe.

After graduating his MBA degree with distinction, he was awarded an Honorary Masters Merit Award in 2006 for his ground-breaking research and study of professional rugby players; the first ever in South Africa. He was also awarded an International Honorary Doctorate in 2009 for ongoing research of professional rugby player’s career development and education.

 

In 2005/6 Ross was approached by Barclays Bank plc to head up a team (34 people) to implement the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 in all the branches (over 300) of Barclays in Africa and Middle East. All companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange had to comply with Section 404, 302 and 906 that require documentation of internal reports over financial reporting. This highly successful project set the tone for KPMG and PWC to drive this initiative further for Barclays Bank and the ABSA Group in terms of SOX compliance and governance.

Ross was also the editor of various business & educational magazines and has more than 250 academic and business articles published to date in academic journals and business magazines.

He is the holder of double Springbok colours, a silver medallist at the World Life-Saving Championships in Barcelona in 1974, received senior provincial colours in six different sports and played in 74 Currie Cup matches (including 5 finals) for Free State – a member of the winning Currie Cup team in 1976 against Western Province – 17 Currie Cup matches for Northern Transvaal; and was also selected for the SA XV against the All Blacks. He received SA Games colours for Triathlon, did the gruelling Iron Man twice (160 Km) and successfully completed 15 Argus Cycle Tours.


Dr. Gareth Hayton - Director

Gareth qualified from Stellenbosch University with BChD in June 1988 and entered private practice. In 1995 he completed a 2-year diploma in dental aesthetics and graduated cum laude.

In 1999 he published a book "Complete Family Guide to Dental Health and Treatment", was author and co-author of various published articles in the SA Medical journal and SA Dental journal and in 2000 was appointed sub-editor of South African Dental Association's Journal.


Mr. David Carolus  - Director

David has a background in mining, production, finance, telecoms and IT with a BSc (Mech Eng) from the University of Cape Town, a Diploma in Financial Management and Investments (FMIP) from the University of South Africa, an MBA, as well as MPhil (Futures Studies) from the University of Stellenbosch.

David has held management positions in major corporate organisations within South Africa and is acknowledged as an innovator and enabler of sustainable and effective strategic execution, in constantly changing environments.

David is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) and is a certificated Director (Cert. D).


Dr. Frans Coetsee - Director
Frans Coetsee qualified as a dentist in 1986 at the University of Pretoria.
 
During 4 years of government service Frans managed two dental clinics. He then worked for 6 years in private practice, both his own and in a group practice. He completed postgraduate courses in endodontic, implantology and orthodontics at the University of Pretoria as well as the Medical University of South Africa (Medusa). In 2001 he completed a diploma course in Financial Skills for Executive Management.

Whilst in private practice, Frans acted as dental consultant to a medical aid and the idea for the Denis system was born. With one of his partners in private practice he founded the company commercially in 1996 and left clinical practice to become the Managing Director of Dental Information Systems (Pty) Ltd.

In 1997 he initiated a national road show with the Dental Association of South Africa to enlighten SA dentists about managed health care. He is the author and co-author of managed care related articles in the Journal of the South African Dental Association.
